AE Housman Reading this poem I had several different impressions. First reading it in a literal aspect I saw a child who ran races and perhaps won. It is my belief that defendants should never face a jury of their exact peers. The effect of allowing the defendant to go to court of there peers would destroy the whole system of what this country was built on. In our country's history blacks have fought to break threw racism and women, the right to vote. There have been so many battles won in our country with juries far from having anything in common with the defendant.
