It takes several steps to build a health community. It takes a lot for one individual to make a difference. I think that an individual can only do their part. Things that they can do are eating right and working out, and encouraging other individuals to do the same. Next time I go to the gym I will ask that one new person comes with me. Than every time after that I will ask somebody new to come. This way hopefully I will get many people working out and exercising, making them healthier. In the cafeteria I will encourage all of the people I eat with to watch what they are about to eat. I"ll ask them to go to the salad bar with me and go light on the greasy and unhealthy food. As for emotional health I will open up, and allow people that need to talk about things, to come to me. I would want everybody to feel comfortable around me. It is always good to talk about things that bother you in your life, and sometimes you just need somebody to listen. I could be that person. Spiritually I could encourage all people to attend religious sessions at the local church or temple. Whichever faith they are, or choose to be. Getting in touch with God, or an higher being is good for your spiritual health.
All of these examples above and more show what one individual can do to help to build a health community. I personally will work to be the person described above, but that will take time. For now I must take small steps toward being that person, so I can eventually lead my community towards good health.
