Communication Barriers among employees and managers .
The purpose of this paper is to select a topic or issue related to my professional environment. At one point or another, each of us has experienced a communication problem with our managers", co-workers" and employees". Effective communication in the workplace is critical. In order to get beyond the barriers of communication people need to focus on the real problem at hand.
The issue that I have experience related to my professional environment is barriers. My manager seems to think that some of her employees" are the best workers she had ever inherited within her section. However, there are other employees" in her section who work just as hard as her so called favorite workers". .
The problem all started when my company developed a new section with in the building. This section required a new staff to perform the same duties that the other sections performed. To get the unit started, the big boss had to recruit or draft employees" to the new section. If no employees" volunteered the person with the youngest service computation date would have been the employee who would have been drafted. The new boss had no problem getting volunteers because the employees that knew they would be drafted took the position. .
However, there were some other employees" who volunteer simply, because they did not like their prior manager and their manager did not care for them. Moving to a new location was an opportunity to start over and build up a good reputation.
I was one of the employees who volunteered to go to the new unit. I volunteered simply, because I would have been drafted anyway. While entering in the new section I notice that some employees" were kissing up to the new manager. After being in the section for a while I also notice that the manager sucking it all in. It got to the point where the manager liked all of the attention she was getting from her favorite employees".
