They seemed dull, maybe to show that the commercial is not very pleasant.
The commercial should not be pleasant because animals are suffering; therefore the colours are not very lively. All the colours are roughly the same because they want to keep the commercial heartbreaking instead of cheerful to unhappy.
There were many different shots in the commercial. Each different shot showed us how the animals were living and how they were feeling. They had no clue what was going on, so they just suffered in silence.
The first sound on the commercial was a helpless little kitten. However, instead of doing what normal cats do (meow), this kitten was talking. She was asking where her mother was. I thought this had a huge impact on everyone who watched the advert because it showed that wherever animals were, they couldn't talk to anyone. .
When I first heard the advert I thought a mother was leaving her daughter on someone's doorstep. I think it caused sadness in everyone.
There is some music in the advert but there is talking going on over it. The music has a slow rhythm. It also has rush of sadness when you hear it. The music could have been played in a minor key to have made the commercial sadder. The first sound suggests a small child abandoned in an unused alleyway.
There are spoken words throughout the whole of the advert. There is a different voice for each animal. I think the young kitten's voice was used by a young girl. She said, Mum, where's my mum?' The tone of voice was quiet and upset. There are two dogs; the first dog I think is said by a middle-aged male. He said, Oh no, he's drunk again!' I think the tone of voice was again upset but also had fear. The second dog had no speech. Instead there is male, approximately 30-40 years old, telling us to donate £3 a month and also the number to call to get more information. This is not a voice over because he is not talking over anyone. He is just giving some details on how to get more information.
