My Experience

Everyone comes to a place in their life when they need something more than this world can offer. All of my life I have been raised in a Christian home. Wonderful Christian parents. I've always claimed to be a Christian, but the question I asked myself, was I really a Christian?.
If I died tomorrow where would my soul go? Have I completely surrendered my life to Jesus Christ? Am I living the life I should live? Question after question popped into my head at different points in my life. They were all answered one year in spring at a Christian youth camp.
I was in Louisiana on Easter weekend for a series of Christian meetings. My physical body may have told me I didn't want to be there, but my heart told me I was in the right place. Services began Thursday night and ended Sunday morning. I wasn't able to make it Thursday night, but I was there Friday morning. The spirit of God was moving everywhere. Friday services and Saturday morning services were excellent, but the most important service to me was Saturday night service.
God came down with his tender mercy and grace and touch my heart that night. As I began to ask God to forgive me of all of my sins, and that I needed Him in my life, I began to cry. A few minutes later a man touched me on the shoulder and asked me if I wanted to be baptized. I said yes, with tears in my eyes. On that cool Saturday night, I was baptized in a swimming pool by one of Gods faithful servants, Brother Bill Ivy, at 11:00 PM the night before Easter.
That night I completely surrendered my life to Jesus Christ, because he gave his life on earth for me. There has never been a better experience in my life ever, as the one I had that night. I thank God for all of his grace and mercy he has given me.
