Furthermore, it will strengthen its friendly relations between the future contracting party and to its people, promote different defense cooperation that will benefit both parties and encourage cooperation to serve each other's economic interests and defense aspirations.2.
The blow of the Philippines to transport the West Philippine Sea or the Spratlys issue to the United Nations arbitration process has gained its comprehensive public support. The basis of our claim is grounded on the universally acknowledged codes of the international law, agreements, resolutions and natural features. The Philippine Government is particularly sure that our stance in claiming the West Philippine Sea is centered on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). 3 The main objective of our diplomatic approach appears to gain effective support from the international community that would have the preferred impact on China. .
Safeguarding international community's support is the only realistic hope that the Philippines have right now; we could have organized for this strategy in a more purposeful way. Our two countries are not only geographically acquaintance but also societal neighbors. The nature probably made them to be eternally so. China is very much attached to us as a nation and among Filipinos as a country. Our government, commerce, military and even spiritual leaders have Chinese relations. Underneath this bilateral negotiation between friendly neighbors can create positive consequences. The point of view of both sides can be openly discussed to the full agreement of their citizens and the international community.
The government of the Philippines is trying its best to pursue a peaceful and rules-based solution to this maritime dispute against the China. Philippines and the other countries should terminate from taking actions that would distress harmony, safety and stability in the region.
