High School and College Life - The Differences

Many students from high school who are shy and withdrawn in high school open up when they get to college. The more diverse student population also means there is less chance of being without a friend or a group of people. There are more classifications of personalities, interests and groups. This can oftentimes mean who were popular in high school find them as unpopular and anonymous in college. This could depress them of the lack of attention that is now withheld by their new lives.
High school life means being controlled by the adults around you. College life means being independent. Both lives entail responsibilities, though. In high school, teachers and parents are there to supervise because they think you are not mature enough to make the best decisions for yourself. They guide you through your responsibilities, which include making sure you study and not fall back with your school work, help with housework, run errands, and not get involved with the wrong kids or the wrong practices. .
College life also means learning to be responsible with several things; however, the extra independence means you have to be responsible on your own, without your parents and teachers reminding you constantly of what to do. In fact, your parents and professors begin treating you more like equals. If you fail in something, you face harsher consequences because you're supposed to be grown-up already and should have known from the right and wrong. In fact, a misdemeanor or infraction against the law committed by a college student carries a heavier penalty and punishment compared to when a high school student has committed the same deed. The disappointment of those around the offending college student is also deeper consequences than the high school age delinquent.
High school provides a general education on life; in college, you specialized courses in your career choice. Courses in high school are supposed to make you well-rounded in different disciplines and aspects of life.
