The Day My Life Changed Forever

Everybody was laughing and joking. I even found out that many of the girls also had trouble getting their dresses to zip. I laughed and felt glad that I wasn't the only one. I wished I didn't take it out on my mom. I needed to apologize.
The day was long but it went by quick. I didn't realize how tiring the wedding would be. The ceremony in church and hours of pictures seemed never-ending. Soon enough it was time for the reception, which was full of music, dancing, and amazing food. It was fun but this all seems like a blur now in comparison to what happens next.
I arrived home at 1:00 in the morning. I went right to the bathroom and showered off the sweaty night of dancing. I remembered that my father was away on his annual vacation down south golfing with his friends. I decided I was going to sleep in my mother's bed with her since he was gone. Even at age 20, I still loved relaxing in my parent's big comfortable bed. I'm not embarrassed to admit this. It was so much cozier than mine. I was going to take advantage of my dad being gone and sleep in there.
I crawled into my mom's bed, trying not to wake her. But she awoke anyway, cheerfully, as always. "How was the wedding?" She whispered to me.
"It was great. I'm tired and have a slight headache though.".
"Do you have pictures? I can't wait to see them. I bet all you girls looked beautiful. Was Jessica so happy?" She gushed with questions.
We continued to talk till 2:00 in the morning about my day at the wedding and her day as well. She said she had a peaceful day. She spent time with her friends and drank a tea from Dunkin Donut's, her favorite, at the waterfront watching the bay waves go up and down.
"Then I came home and spent some time in the garden." She smiled as she spoke. Gardening was her favorite. She always spoke to me with excitement about flowers but I could never get interested. She would always tell me that when she was gone, I would miss her talking about flowers.
