In John 14:6, Jesus says "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Acts 4:12 states "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." There are numerous passages that assume God chose certain people to receive salvation and the only path is through Jesus Christ. However, other biblical passages like Acts 10:34 claim that "God does not show favoritism, but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right." Passages like this one clearly points to how God considers everyone as equals anfd thus the importance is doing the right thing, leading a good life, versus having specific knowledge of Christ and Christianity. .
Pluralism is the belief that humans may be saved through a number of different religious traditions and saviors. Pluralists believe that the world religions are all true and equally valid in their communication of the truth about God, the world, and salvation. This view concludes that all religions lead to the same God and all ways lead to heaven or salvation; Christianity is among several way to salvation and should not considered above all other religions. There is also a subset that Christians have a better understanding of Christ than non- Christians, but definitely still think that people of other religions do have a significant' knowledge of Christ. This school of thought asserts the validity of all religions, but in doing so, creates problems in contradictory beliefs. The pluralistic contention is that all religions are fundamentally the same, though superficially different.
Pluralistic approaches are easily refuted on two major points, the first being that each religion is so different of the others in its view of God, sin, salvation, death, and eternity. Therefore, theses religions can't possibly all be equal and equally right.
