Abortion - Standing Up for My Faith

At the time because they were so poor the living conditions were not bearable for raising a new child. The pregnancy was a surprise to my birth mom and she first thought that I would be a burden to her and decided to have an abortion. This decision had a really heavy impact on the parents that were going to adopt me. When the couple that were going to adopt me heard of this they were shocked and very emotional. They immediately scheduled a meeting with the birthparents to discuss what was going on and how they could help. After the conversation they worked things and decided not to have an abortion.
I can connect to Tim Tebow in the same way because he was adopted almost around the same age and was supposed to be an aborted child also. Hearing both of these stories inspired me to create my own pro-life stance against abortion. After I had recently heard my adoption story for the first time and relating my story to Tim Tebow I then decided to join my parish youth group to feel more involved in the activities of my community. I wanted to feel more involved in my community and learn more about my faith had to offer. As I started to get more involved in the various activities that took place throughout the year in my youth group I grew stronger in my understanding of why I was against abortion and realized that this was the perfect place for me to start on my journey of standing up for what I believe in.
The year went by and I came across an event coming up called "The March for Life" that members of my youth group went to every year. This event had been going on for many years and stood for one main belief that I was strongly for being against abortion. It began as a small demonstration on January 22, 1974, the first anniversary of the now infamous Supreme Court decisions in the Roe vs. Wade case. It grew to be the largest pro-life event in the world. I had never heard of this event before and as soon as I found out what the event was for it immediately peaked my interest and I wanted to go.
