Religion, Cloning and Genetic Engineering

When discussing the question, "To what extent is human cloning playing God?" There are some key themes and areas that need to be discussed, and explained which what I am going to be doing in this literature review.
             Response .
The most important thing to understand first is what human cloning is and how it will work? Firstly, "Human cloning is a form of cloning which is designed to result in a copy of a human being," this means that the procedures that human cloning contains is specifically designed to result in an exact copy of the human being cloned. "There are a number of ethical and religious debates surrounding cloning, and many nations have specifically banned it, discouraging research into any procedures which may result in cloned humans." What would human cloning involve, and how could you take sperm out of the reproductive equation? There are many ways to human cloning but one being somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) "which is the same procedure that was used to create Dolly the sheep." This means that if human cloning proceeds then the primary method that the scientists are most likely to use is somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). For example "the nucleus from the female donor's egg would be removed to create an enucleated egg which would allow the scientists to "fuse together the cloning subjects cell containing the DNA using electricity." Meaning that "If the procedure is successful, then the surrogate mother will give birth to a baby that's a clone of the cloning subject at the end of a normal gestation period." Other than cloning humans, many scientists are thinking if "Could we clone our organs to be used in a transplant," for example in the 2005 sci-fi movie 'The island' the plot of the movie was that a clone of the organs were stowed away somewhere in case they ever needed a heart or liver , just like having a spare tire in the trunk of a car.
