Increasing Prevalence of Gangs

 

            In today's modern time, not only can you find gangs in inner cities but you are able to find them in suburban areas, rural communities, and basically anywhere around the world. As the years go by, people are seeing an increase of gang violence all over the world due to multiple reasons. For example, based upon the findings done by the FBI, "gangs are morphing, multiplying, migrating and entrenching themselves in order to sell drugs to our kids, shooting up our neighborhoods, invading our homes, robbing our banks and stores, stealing our identities, our money, and instilling fear and violence everywhere they go." From that statement alone, gangs are known worldwide because they are all interconnected. "For some it becomes a mechanism for surviving deprivation and trauma," according to Donna DeCesare, and there has been a dramatic increase number of youths who join a gang over the years. Gangs are recognized as a world issue because they are all interconnected, it becomes a root for surviving deprivation and trauma, and the numbers of youth joining gangs are increasing. Over the years, gangs have been established around the world resulting in an incline of violent crimes making people living in an unsafe environment. .
             Gangs are not seen as a new sensation that conquered the world overnight, but can be over viewed as a web of connections between each gang. As the years go by, people are seeing an increase of gang violence all over the world due to multiple reasons.
