I, therefore, would not only fit in well, but would have the time of my life. Furthermore, I could learn a lot about the Hispanic culture from residing there. Although I would have to sacrifice the warm sandy beaches, another place on the east coast that I could learn a couple things about culture from is New York.
New York City, New York, also called the Big Apple, has enough diversity within it to fulfill the world. Among the several different backgrounds represented in New York City is Chinese, Bangladeshi, Korean, Cuban, Dominican, Haitian, Puerto Rican, Indian, and African American, not to mention the numerous religions represented as well. On average, I visit New York City at least three times a year and I leave more and more cultured every time. It is a mecca for politics, fashion, news, business, and the most famous, entertainment.
A rather significant aspect of my life is performing arts. Singing, dancing, and acting my entire life has obviously instilled a passion for seeing performance as well. As a dream of mine has always been to be on Broadway, it is always inspiring to see and learn from others already there. New York City is also the home of MTV and BET, another interest of mine as an adolescent, thus making the city huge on pop and hip hop culture. The city teaches me the latest on urban fashions, music, and lifestyle. I have always been a city girl and plan on going to law school at New York University to then live and practice law there. It is a city at which I could never get bored. On a more serious note, a spot on the east coast that holds much of my respect is Washington, D.C.
There is no better place to practice law and politics than the capitol of the United States. Ever since I was a little girl, my ideal dream was to be the first female president of the United States on Broadway. Visiting D.C. strengthens my dream. The most educational of the visits relative to the government was my eighth grade field trip to D.
