Gun control will have a harmful affect on our nation as a whole. The law-abiding citizens of America will be left defenseless if gun control is allowed to come about. Violent criminals are violent criminals, the passing of gun control laws will not affect their impact on our nation. Gun control laws violate the American citizen's second Amendment right. The second Amendment provides a right to bare arms and is guaranteed to all Americans by the Constitution of the United States of America.
By alowing gun control laws to pass, Americans are only hurting themselves. "The only people ever affected by gun laws are peaceful law-abiding citizens who never abuse their firearm right." Many of these citizens only own guns for the protection of their families and themselves. " During the LA riots, hundred of law-abiding citizens were able to take up arms against lawless mobs to defend themselves, their families, their homes, and their businesses." It is blatantly obvious that if their had been any gun laws restricting their ownership of fire arms many of the citizens could have lost everything they had, the lives of loved one, or even their own lives. "According to a 1985 NBC survey, about one in twenty (7,500,0000 Americans carry firearms for self-defense." This means if gun control were passed it would leave 7,500,000 helpless citizens without protection from criminals. "One study done by a research company says that each year 300,000 Americans use hand guns to defend themselves." This only includes handguns. It would be a lot higher if they included all types of guns. Imagine what could of happen to these fellow Americans if gun control was in effect at the time of their attacks. "It should be ovios that the big losers from such laws will be people that right now own a gun for self-defense.".
