Euthanasia

Euthanasia is the act of painlessly putting to death, or allowing to die, a person or animal suffering from an incurable, or painful, disease. Some people call it "mercy killing". People who are against it call it "murder".
I believe it's best for people, and animals, to die naturally whenever possible. But I believe that people should have the right to practice euthanasia under some circumstances. Sometimes people are very ill and it saddens me to see people suffer. I feel that if they want to die, instead of suffering a painful death, they should have the right to die a painless one.
I had an animal that got very sick and was sick for about a week. It was very weak and couldn't stand up to eat or drink. The animal got very skinny and its leg was so swollen that pus was seeping out of it. I hated to see it suffer so we had it killed. It died instantly. I felt better because it wasn't suffering anymore. If I were in that position, I would want someone to do the same for me.
It's really hard to see someone suffer that you have known and loved for a very long time. One of my uncles had cancer and I went to see him. I saw all the tubes in his mouth. He had gotten very skinny. I wanted to cry seeing him like that. It was hard to believe and everyone wanted him to die so that he wouldn't suffer anymore. He said himself that he wanted it to be over. I would have wanted someone to put me to sleep if it had been me. I believe they should have respected his wishes.
In all, I believe, because of my experiences, that people should have the right to practice euthanasia. I know it's not legal but I think it should be if people are suffering and that's what they want. I know that a lot of people don't agree with me but they probably haven't been through experiences like mine.
