With humans, there is the risk of hormonal mutations, multiple miscarriages, and possibly developmental deformities in the child; and no one knows how many attempts it will take until a clone is finally "born" (Nash, 3). Thus, take in consideration the psychological repercussions that a person may face if they were to be born as a clone. What kind of pressures will he/ she feel, knowing they were made as a direct replacement for another? There may be certain pressures for them to be or act a certain way. Perhaps society might expect too much or even too little out of them because of whom from which they were cloned. Therefore, their entire individuality would get lost in the whole process as well; due to the mere fact that they are identical to the parent.
             Moreover, errors occur when scientists carry out the procedure. For instance, it took 277 attempts to produce Dolly; a cloned lamb (MacKinnon, 7). Likewise, there are many people who .

             will seek to abuse this technology for their own purposes; and going ahead with cloning technology makes this far more likely. For example, there might be someone who wants a clone just for the simple reason of enjoying the publicity of having one. These possibilities are not out of the question, but cloning is not a process that is as easy as making a baby the traditional way. More importantly, cloning might seem more desirable to a larger group of people who might want to rebel from society if there is a legal barrier. .
             However, the biggest danger of human cloning comes from the prospect of wide spread gene selection (MacKinnon, 8). Since cloning selects all a person's genes, once we morally justify cloning it is very easy to justify picking specific traits in children. Selecting specific positive traits for human children has a long and evil history, one which has roots in eugenics, Nazism, and even American slavery (MacKinnon, 10). Thus, once people are allowed to select the characteristics of their child, there will be instant competition as to who can build the "perfect" offspring.
