These activities and programs helped him prepare for his leadership roles, dealing with public appearances, being a team leader and organizational skills. He also learned how to stand up for the things he believed in and going forth with his ideas. Those activities included: he was a part in events and organizations in civil activities, central council, and the legislative branch of the university. Since graduating he has been involved in making changes to the City of New York. During my interview with him we focused mainly on the issues of education and hate crimes after the September 11th attack. .
As Chairman of the Finance committee, David Weprin is constantly working with budget proposals, causing him and is co-workers to spend long hours in the office. His occupation is tedious and requires a lot of patience. His work entitles him to attend hearings, proposals and dealings with negotiations that sometimes have him awake pass midnight. David Weprin is not only the Chairman of the Finance committee, but he is also vice president of Northeast Queens Jewish Community Council. In his hectic life Weprin finds the time to be a board member of many other organizations throughout the city. .

Working in the government, depending in what area, set hours do not exists so some may view it as a drawback, especially if you have a family. Those who do decide to obtain a career in such fields, as Weprin must consider the needs of their family and profession. Those whose jobs consume most of their time know there will be days that they"ll will be unable to enjoy beautiful days or attend special events. It can be extremely stressful, but if there is dedication and motivation then you one will exceed in that field. Some stress can be alleviated if the person believes in the cause and decides it is worth putting up a fight. As a democratic, believing in the people and aiding them in securing and cleaning the environment makes Weprin zeal to change the City of New York thus allowing him to enjoy waking up for work every morning.
