Nonverbal Communication

Our voices are essential devices when it comes to communicating. Just with a few words or phrases our gender, age, geographic background, and possibly our level of education can be revealed. Due to personal beliefs and experiences, I adamantly believe the usage and comprehension of nonverbal communication is more essential in the business world then actual verbal interaction. .
Through practice, observation, and studying the concept of nonverbal communication, I have gained imperative insight on its effectiveness and usage. As the sole owner and designer of WebskapeDesigns.com, a web design company, I have been forced to understand and manipulate nonverbal communication. With my inexperience in the processes of negotiating, in the past, I felt clients were able to read me like an open book, and subsequently, I was left trying to depict their poker faces. However, after countless hours of research and practice with possible clients I taught myself to master the trade. With my knowledge and ability to use nonverbal communication I was able to portray myself confident, caring, and understanding when the situation called. I feel with proper usage, I could meet a client eye to eye and "lure" them in. With my ability to read and depict body language and silent messages I was able to get a feel for my client and their comfort zone. I learned the significance of giving attention to posture (wealthy and successful can be distinctive), focusing on their eyes, whether they were sitting comfortably, how they were holding their hands, etc. Such factors can easily give away what a person is thinking and feeling. With such knowledge I was able to prepare myself and audible into different schemes of offense to get what I demanded. Though this sounds manipulative and blatantly is, it is a demanding aspect of the business world that everyone probably faces. .
With these talents I was able to represent my company more professionally and increase my income.
