             Need a vacation? There's no place better than Oahu, Hawaii. Oahu, also known as the gathering place, has over a million residents and millions of people go there to visit each year. It is located in the Pacific Ocean approximately two thousand three hundred ninety miles from California. Surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches, Oahu is a great vacation spot with lots of things to do.
             There are many family oriented activities to do on Oahu. My favorite place to go is Hawaiian Waters Adventures. This water park has tons of different water slides and a big wave tank for people who want to surf. It also has a kiddy land with kid's slides. Sea Life park and the aquarium are great places to bring the kids. My son loved watching the dolphin show and getting splashed by them. The Dole Pineapple Plantation is a must see with a pineapple variety garden and pineapple maze. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes! The Polynesian Culture Center helps you understand many different cultures on the island. You can learn Hawaiian hula and eat foods from different cultures. There is an evening show explaining the different cultures and dances. You have a choice to get the package for a luau or a buffet dinner. We got the package with the buffet and it was excellent! The Kualoa Ranch has horseback riding and ATV riding. I wanted to go there but we ran out of time. If you have a fetish to drive exotic cars then there are places for you to rent them. .
             If you like to sightsee then Oahu is a great place to explore. Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial are two popular places to see. Do you like to hike? If so, then you should hike up to the two hundred foot waterfall in the Manoa Valley. The Pali Lookout also has spectacular views of the whole windward side of the island. There are also many ancient burial grounds around Oahu. Remember not to take anything or you will get very bad luck.
