"Wake up sleepy head, you"re going to be late." my husband said loudly into my ear.
"What time is it?" I asked him in a groggy voice. .
"It is almost nine, and you have to be at the church by nine-thirty to set up," he stated matter of factly. I quickly jumped up and ran to the bathroom. After I had showered and dressed, I grabbed my violin and was on my way to the church.
My name is Jessica Nelson, and I have been a wedding musician for almost five years now. I play the violin, and every time I play in a wedding I feel that I had some part in uniting two people's love. Playing the violin has always brought on a peace of mind for me. The wedding that I am suppose to play at today begins at ten o clock in Clear Waters, the bride Alicia Smith, has been one of my best friends since high school. She and Jon Taylor have been together for almost six years.
When I arrived at the church, everyone had already begun setting up, and the guests began to arrive. I started to practice my violin, tuning out everyone in the room as I played the beautiful notes. The pianist began to play, dum dum dadum dum dadum dum dadumdum dadadum. The minister walked out of his preparation room and came before the church, stopping at the groom and giving him a look of recognition. When Alicia walked into the room looking more beautiful then she ever has, all eyes turned to her except the minister, who was still staring at Jon.
When Alicia walked to meet Jon at the alter, all was quiet. When five minutes had gone by and the minister still hadn't said a single word, the room broke out into whispers. All of a sudden, the minister gasped as if it suddenly dawned on him, and he shouted to the entire room, "I can not possibly marry the two of you; it goes against all that I believe in!" The room suddenly became deathly quiet as everyone stared at the minister in question. He continued, "Jon Taylor, how could you even think of marrying someone who is so gentle and kind, knowing that you did what you did?" The minister said staring at Jon accusingly.
