Horror Movies

 

            
             Stephen King says, "If we share a brother hood of man, then we also share an insanity of man". He believes that we watch horror films for three reasons. We watch to show we are not afraid, to re-establish our feelings of normality, and to just have fun. King says the fun part of watching a horror film is seeing people get tortured or even killed. That is why he says, "we"re all mentally ill". Horror films let us release our anticivilized emotions and our fears, which is sometimes hard to do. This allows us to become civilized again "normal" and have positive feelings like love, friendship, and kindness. .
             I believe people watch horror movies because people like to get scared and be afraid. It is a feeling that isn't experienced every day by most people. Its an adrenaline rush. King said it is like riding a roller coaster with all the drops and loops. When watching a horror movie you get the rush but there are no consequences. When the lights come back on and everyone is leaving you know your safe. The movie takes your troubles and fears and places them in the movie and leaves them in the movie theatre.
