Comparison / Contrast Essay

Irish Wolfhounds are one of the biggest dog breeds in the world; I have two living in my house! Although Seamus and Teirnan are the same species the have several major differences in their appearance and personality.
             The Irish Wolfhound.
The Irish Wolfhound is the tallest of all dogs. The beasts come in a variety of colors and have a very course coat. While they can be fierce and intimidating at first, they tend to be a very loving and gentle species. These dogs can be easily trained and are usually very obedient. They seem to think for themselves and have an independent spirit.
             Appearance.
Seamus is the older dog, he's six, and he stands tall with broad shoulders and floppy ears. He seems to be built with exactness and strength. A shiny brindle coat covers his body in straight wiry hairs. He could be called a picture perfect Irish Wolfhound. Teirnan, on the other hand is a mess. His fiercely curly hair mats into millions of impossible dreadlocks. He limps horribly because he's missing the ball in his right hip. He looks weak and tired. Teirnan could be mistaken for a poor street dog.
             Personality.
Seamus is an extremely good dog; he listens well. He loves people, children and expecialy my mom. He is a friendly and warm-hearted dog. His only down fall is he thinks that he is the boss. For example, for Christmas this year each dog received a huge bone. Seamus ate his bone, and then stole, and ate Teirnan's. Teirnan however has a majorly different personality. He fights for attention.
