Financial Aid

I am writing this letter in response to the suspension of my financial aid due to my academic performance for winter quarter 2003. I would like to explain why it is that I failed to meet the credit requirement. On February fifth two- thousand three, I was involved in a snowboarding accident. I suffered a concussion from this accident. I am not sure if you are familiar with snowboarding but I will try to explain exactly what happened. I was night skiing at Snoqualmie West. The park there is a little steeper than I am used to. Nonetheless I decided to try and ride the fun box. A fun box is much like a rail, but with more of a surface area. The landing off of the fun box turned out to be a lot bigger than I had thought. I ended up losing balance at the end of the fun box. I launched off of the fun box with my body parallel to the ground. I am not sure how far I fell but I knew that I was in trouble. Luckily my head broke my fall. That pretty much ended my snowboarding for that night. I went to Kittitas Community Hospital the next day.
This turned out to be my third concussion. I am not sure if you are familiar with concussions but with each concussion suffered the length of recovery is increased. This concussion could not have had worse timing. I had suffered this head injury the day before my midterms. I cannot even begin to explain how frustrating it is to not be able to concentrate on text for more than a minute or two. Or studying and not being able to remember what you just read. This put me in a hole right away. As you can imagine I did not do too well on my midterms. This problem stayed with me throughout the quarter. I wished that I could have taken winter quarter off so that I would not have been in the predicament I am now in. But unfortunately I rely on the money I receive from financial aid to basically live.
I take school very seriously. I have always excelled in my studies and I have never had grades like these.
