Honors Program

What do you feel you will contribute to the HPSC?.
The Honors Program at the University of Georgia brings together one of the most gifted, diverse, and active groups of people not only on campus, but in the country. I am totally honored to be a part of this "institution." If lucky enough to be appointed to the HPSC, I will be able to bring my diverse background, my various international travel experiences, my love for extracurricular activities, and an overall point of view that will be able to express the opinions of many people. Any organization or event that I commit myself to, I obligate myself to perform the tasks at hand at the fullest of my abilities and do not believe in doing anything half-heartedly. I consider myself a "leader" and enjoy taking responsibilities, making decisions, and being held accountable for my actions. Furthermore, if appointed to the HPSC, I will make it one of my top priorities and be able to dedicate lots of hours to its causes and goals. .
List five of your significant high school and/or leadership experiences and briefly describe your contributions to one of them.
             Beta Club.
I served as the Vice-President for my high school's Beta Club and led a group of about seventy students that were highly motivated academically and directed several major projects that benefitted the Middle Georgia area. I was the coordinator for events such as Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive, Christmas Coat Pick-Up, trips to the homeless shelter, and organizing the regions first Mentorship program between Central High School Students and residents of a local nursing home, and other minor events that were directed to tutor students who needed help. .
             Academic Decathlon.
I was a member of my school's three-time defending state championship team. We worked for six months to not only defeat schools in our Small-Schools Division, but even won the entire state of Georgia in 2002.
