The teachers taught her how .

             When she was five years old she started school. She learned very early in life that .
             she had a passion for learning. The hard work and determination earned her high marks,.
             as she learned she could achieve most anything. Her parents and teachers noticed how .
             dedicated she was and always encouraged her to accept new challenges. In her first year .
             of junior high school, she was on her way to the top of her class when an event took place .
             that had a major impact on her. She came home from school one day to find out her .
             grandmother had passed away. They had been very close and her death came as a shock. .
             This was the first time she had lost someone that she was close to. When she returned to .
             school a few days later she found it was hard to concentrate. She tried to study at home .
             but it was useless. As a result, her grades dropped and she began to fail her classes. It .
             didn't take long for her to realize that she needed to focus her attention back to reality. .
             She knew her grandmother had loved her and would not want her to fail in school. This .
             was when she decided to make a fresh start and it was not long before she caught up with .
             her classmates. She continued to study hard and was admitted to a prestigious high .
             school. This was a wonderful opportunity and she began to plan her future. However, her .
             happiness and plans were short lived. Soon after she started high school, an experience in .
             her life caused her to completely stop trying. Her parents got divorced and she felt that .
             was a waste of time. The girl that had always excelled in school started to lose her desire .
             for learning. She did not feel the need to try anymore and gave up.
