Arnold Schwarzenegger in Politics

            Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the many people running in the 135 candidate race to win the California Governor seat replacing Gray Davis. This race is seen upon as a mockery by the world, with the late night shows making joke after joke including some as the "The Governator". Arnold is not the only candidate getting attention by the press, there is also a porn star and a homeless man running for this same position. Many government experts think that this is only a publicity act being done by most of these candidates. Although he is famous and liked by many Americans, recent polls show that Arnold is not at the top of the race. Democratic candidate Cruz Bustamante leads the polls by 35% while Arnold has 22% of the people's support. This leads in most part to the fact that California is a very liberated state which means democrats are the favored party.
             In my opinion, most of the candidates are just running to make publicity for themselves. Although I do not think that is the case for Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has always been known to be a strong believer in politics. This should not be made a mockery of by other countries. I believe that this shows how we live as a democracy. This also shows people in other countries that United States is in fact the land of opportunity. Where else would a homeless and a porn star run for a leadership position. To be honest I don't believe either or will win the race but it is a step forward in democracy showing that you can start over regardless who you are or what you do for a living. .
