Herland-Work Ethics

Simply because, like the men, a female visitor would be preconditioned as to how relationships and families should be: between a man and a woman. I think the woman in this group of visitors would have apprehensions as to this man-less society.
However, I also believe that the female visitor would have a quicker time adjusting and understanding how this female community flourishes. One can look back at examples of women building a support system with other woman hundreds of years ago during the years of mid-wives. An outside woman integrating into this Herland society would certainly see the value in their relationships sooner than the male visitors.
I also believe there are several things the female visitor would have trouble accepting and adjusting to. Perhaps Herland's approach to children and education would be a difficult adjustment for a visitor. Women in the visitor's society are taught it is their responsibility to raise their children, not separate from them and allow a person more suited to childrearing take over. I think this woman would come to understand the value of the teaching method, but in the beginning I suspect it would be difficult for this female visitor to be willing to give up her child, if she has one while in Herland.
The lack of traditional family life would also be unusual for this visitor. In addition to the lack of sexual activity in a marriage. The three male visitors in Herland often struggled with the absence of sexual desire from their wives. I believe the female visitor might feel the same way. Or, taking the story in a different direction, the visitor might find herself becoming attracted to some of the Herland woman because sexual relations meant more to the female visitor than just to conceive. That could then spark competition between the visiting men and woman for the affection of the Herland women.

The men in the Herland novel show many characteristics that Virginia Woolf associates with notions of power.
