Tartuffe

Yes, I like the comedy of Tartufee by Moliere. I thought the play was funny and is was something that everyone could relate too. I am sure we have all known people who are religious hypocrites. Moliere's purpose was to mock a religious hypocrite in such a manner that the society of his time could be enlightened to his own passion with religion. I have met several people like that because they go to church or because they know a lot of the Bible or because they have had certain spiritual experiences than others that they are better than everyone else. I believe that to be real arrogant. I believe God hates that. There are many people like Tartuffe that hide behind the word of God and make believe they are better. I had a friend like that she tried to convert me to her religion. She said that her religion was the best and that it had saved her. Later I found out that she was stealing and doing drugs. I don't mean to criticize her because I believe people make mistakes in life and that no one is perfect. Moliere makes it clear that as well as their religious hypocrites there are also true believers this is why I enjoyed reading this play because he is right. Just because I have had a bad experience with one religious person doesn't make me believe that everyone in that religion is bad. There are people who are true believers in that religion. I consider myself to be a true believer. I don't believe that my religion is the best and that everyone needs to follow it and if they don't that they will go to hell. I believe that everyone has the right to believe in what ever they want to believe as long as they are sincere. We need to show other respect for there religion as well as they should respect ours. We should be open-minded. We learn more by listening and not talking. The more we learn about someone else the easier it will be to talk to them about what they believe in or don't believe in. Orgon was a very trustworthy person, he believed in everything Tartuffe said to him but because Tartuffe was dishonest to him and used religion (?) and at the end of the play he states he hates all religious people.
