Barry Bonds and the Baseball Hall of Fame


Especially a drug that can make your stats some what tainted. To be honest, Barry Bonds didn't need to take steroids because even before he took steroids he had Hall of Fame numbers to begin with. The reason why Barry bonds started taking steroids supposedly in 1998 was because he felt like he had to compete with players like Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire. He had to compete with them because they were hitting so many home runs so he started use steroids which at that the time wasn't banned substance. Barry bonds shouldn't be denied access to the hall of fame when his stats are hall of fame numbers but the league weren't as strict as they are now with the drug policy.

             If Barry Bonds goes into the baseball hall of fame they should have asterisk and talk about the years he steroids. You shouldn't have have to be punished your whole life whine a mistake you made as a player. Eventually children /people who have never herd of Barry will ask why isn't he in the baseball hall of fame. In his 22 year career in baseball his batting average was .298. Having a career batting of .298 is a great batting average because that means he was able to get on base a lot as and he was able to get 2935 hits in his career and not to mention along with his 762 home runs. Before he started using steroids in 1998 he hit a total of 374 home runs. "Barry Bonds also won 8 golden gloves in a row from 1990-1998". Gold Glove award, is the award given annually to the Major League Baseball players judged to have exhibited superior individual fielding performances at each fielding position in both the National League and the American League.
             "Not to mention he won 12 silver slugger awards in his 22 year career. The Silver Slugger Award is awarded annually to the best offensive player at each position in both the American League and the National League, as determined by the coaches and managers of Major League Baseball.
