It was early in the morning when I received the call that had me anxiously waiting. A few days before this, I had dropped one of many applications off at Kohl's. I had now been given the opportunity to prove to a manager that I was worthy enough to work there. Confidence has always been something that I have lacked, so now here I was trying to figure out how I would prepare myself within the next two days to find a way in which I would sell myself to a company. Previously I had been fortunate enough to find two different jobs without going through the interview process. At the time, I thought it was a positive thing, but I later came to the realization that I was not prepared for a series of questions and unsure of what to expect from this upcoming interview.
I would now invest my free time preparing for this interview. Initially, I spent a couple of minutes doing some research online and made myself a checklist of what I needed to do before 6pm on Tuesday. I first realized that I did not have the proper attire to walk into an interview. My wardrobe has always consisted of very casual outfits meaning I have always been a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl. So now there I was running to the store during my lunch break buy a new outfit. I did not know what to look for or where to start. While I was there, I got a hold of an employee and she suggested for me that the appropriate outfit for an interview at Kohl's would be a pair of slacks, a dress up blouse, and some plain flats. She then helped me find the perfect outfit. By the time I was leaving the store, I had gained a little bit more confidence than what I had initially before going in. I was now through with the first step, which meant I was even just a little bit more prepared.
In addition, I spent the whole night reading over many reviews and comments that other people had left about their experience being interviewed at Kohl's.
