Interpersonal Communication Paper

Deciding which elements of the interpersonal communication model that I believe to be the most important is difficult. I think this model was created with each part serving a unique purpose and importance. Every part of the model is needed to effectively communicate. With that said, I believe there are a few that stand apart from the rest. While they are all important, I feel that some could be left out and all good communication would not be lost. However, there are a few that, if removed, would be detrimental to the process of communicating. I believe these to be the sender and receiver of the message, the channel by which the message is sent, and then lastly the feedback given after the communication has taken place. .
The sender plays an essential role in any communication process. Without a sender there would be no message. The sender has to do, in my opinion, the most work. They have to decide what the message is, what method they are going to send it in, to whom they are sending it, when they are going to send it, and in what manner they will send it. If any of these parts are off then the message has great potential to be lost or damaged. Whenever I think of someone poorly communicating I think of an old boss I had. She had a way of making every one of her employees feel worthless, stressed, disappointed, and even angry. She was missing a lot of the key parts of this communication model. She very passive and often did not know who she wanted to tell to do something so she would merely say what she needed done aloud and hoped that one of the employees would catch on to it and complete it. She often seemingly did not think about the timing of what she was saying. This same manager did not appear to think about the additional messages she was sending by the way she was acting when she would say something. She would often ask for things with a negative aggressive tone especially when she was stressed or upset.
