Affirmative Freedom in Using the Internet


One of them is to accumulate the evidences and ask for help with the law enforcements. Another one is to block the user and limit the amount of personal information that is shown online, again, parents should teach their children how to react when people are trying to cyber bully them. Next, teenagers might meet strangers and have in contact with them on social networks. It is very serious and risky when teenagers start to have in touch with a person online without knowing them personally. Ultimately, teenagers should be using the internet wisely while knowing the potential danger.
             Obviously, teenagers' privacy is being violated if the monitoration of operating social networks are used. For instance, everyone has their own Internet privacy rights which comprise teenagers as well. Sometimes teenagers do not wish their parents to read their texts and the private contents because it might be embarrassing and aberrant. Imagine when the individual is always being stare while texting, wouldn't it be uncomfortable? Thus, parents should give teenagers some freedom and space for using Internet. Gabriel Garcí­a Márquez mentioned, "All human beings have three lives: public, private, and secret" (Marquez, n.d.). In this case, parents are contravening teenagers' privacy rights when they monitor their children while they're using the Internet. Besides, teenagers will share their secrets when they feel in need of, so parents shouldn't make them feel like they are living under a spooky microscope. As teenagers grow, the greater amount of freedom they should obtain. Also, it causes many consequences that would break the relationships between parents and children such as trusts. Therefore, parents must esteem teenagers' privacy rights and allow the use of social networks independently. .
             In fact, teenagers are mature enough to supervise themselves and take the responsibility for their actions.
