Food Safety Research Proposal


             AIMS AND OBJECTIVES .
             To find out the food safety perceptions and the need for food health inspectors and designing a process to address these unmet needs. .
             OBJECTIVES .
             Major food safety issues and what pathogens are causing food safety issues? .
             Food inspector's knowledge and the perception of food safety pathogens and confidence upon their current standards and protocols followed. .
             Opinions and views upon currently available food safety information and their dissemination process.
             The gap between their needs and available resources.
             The role of Knowledge translation in bridging the gap and enhancing the food safety in the Hail region of Saudi Arabia. .
             RESEARCH METHODOLOGY .
             A questionnaire based survey methodology will be followed to address the aim and objectives of the proposed study. Four focus groups will be formed, and questionnaires will be distributed through their emails, along with, print hard copy sent to their official addresses. The interview sessions will be audio-recorded for the maintenance of accuracy and consistency of transcripts[ CITATION Kru091 l 1033 ]. Post discussion sessions, the interviewer, will present a summary of minutes of focus group interview/discussions. The focus group has the right to clarify any discrepancies or doubts raised in the brief.
             Post-interview a knowledge translation based intervention (discussed later) will be carried out with the four focused groups that will be followed by a questionnaire study. The questionnaire will be same as the previous survey, and multiple choices will be given as answers. The change in perceptions will be calculated statistically using excel sheet. The questionnaire session will follow the same discussion method and interview to assess the change in attitude and knowledge status.
             STUDY POPULATION AND SAMPLING.
             The study population will comprise of 20 food safety inspectors. Each focus group will consist of 5 inspectors. The interview session hours will be in between 1.
