(Moonie. 2000).
The health care team supported Senpupta's family by looking into their concerns regardless of their values and cultural and delivered the best care. .
Legislation, charters and codes: (Londoneventstoolkit.co.uk, 2016) defines Legislation as a set of laws that are produced by the government to regulate, to authorise, grant or declare. In terms of events legislation is there to protect the safety of the public. Data protection Act 1988 is an example of an Act that controls personal information used by organisations, businesses or the government. (Gov.uk, 2016) Data protection Act affects the way we communicate to service users, every health care worker is responsible to follow rules set by data protection. Patient's personal data has to be kept safe, secure and should not be disclosed to anyone without the contest of the patient.
As a health worker we need to promote good practise such as protecting patient information, treating them with respect is a fundamental aspect of health and social care and if dignity and privacy are respected, it shows protection of human rights is achieved. (Ife, 2012).
According to sengupta family they were given enough time to explain their concerns to the health care organisation, for Mr Bhanu's case he was given enough information regarding with his diet plan and why the plan was important. As a nurse or care worker we have to give patients the right to find what information the government and other organisation stores for them. Health care workers have to be aware of data protection Act, for example even if any of senpupta family member goes to the Gp surgery/ health centre to ask for Mr Bhanu's information they will have to seek Mr Bhanu consent first before giving out any information. Poor understanding of law can lead disempowerment or discrimination to patients and this will result into organisation getting a bad reputation whereby they will end up closing down.
