After having the butler introduce himself to him, he left in search of his wife to ask her about the new butler. Out on the patio, Mrs. Prior was found reading a book enjoying the summer air. When questioned about the butler, she calmly told her husband that he was an old friend down on his luck looking for a job. Accepting her reason, Mr. Prior went about his daily life though he did find it strange that she's never mentioned this man before.
Several months later, Mr. Prior arrived home from work early in a little bit of a frisky mood hoping to get it on with the missus. Wandering through their home, he could not find his wife anywhere until an unpleasant noise defiled his ears. Coming from direction of the pool house, Mr. Prior went to investigate. Walking up slowly, he saw that the lights were out but there no hiding sounds of pleasure coming from the building that he knew full well to be those of his wife. Hurt, confused, and not completely sure what to do. Mr. Prior, still not wanting the reality that was hitting to be true, walked over to the window confirmed his thoughts. His wife was having an affair with the butler that she had hired. Mr. Prior show cased a great amount of trust in his wife's believing what she told him about her "friend." He had his suspicions about the shady character and his wife's story from the get go but opted out of following up on those suspicions. This lead him to miss possible clues that probably should have been obvious left it alone. Had he taken initiative at the beginning of this event there are a number of possible outcomes that could have happened without him having to have his heart broken in such a manner. .
"Alec, why aren't you replenishing your powers?" Ross asked commenting on how worn out his master looked.
"I already told you if not done during a full moon it would take days for me to finish what could be done in one night.
