Should four-Year Olds be told about santa?


            Every year millions of little children wait anxiously for Santa Claus to arrive. To many, this is a dream that is cherished. It symbolizes the innocence that is so easily lost after a certain age is reached. Believing that Santa Clause is real is something that gives children a hope. It's something to hold onto when the world seems cruel. Telling your child that Santa Claus is fictional before a certain age of maturity is reached can harm the child for life. Children around the age of four still need something to believe in. They are just experiencing the world and all its mysteries and they need something positive to believe in. Taking this away is just like jerking a step stool out from underneath a child while they strain to use the sink like the big kids do. .
             Children need to be told the stories of Christmas, the traditions and the experiences of their parents in order to understand the importance of Christmas. It's important to give children something to believe in. This world is so full of things that can't be controlled, but the one thing that can be counted on is that Santa will come and leave presents on Christmas Eve to all children that are good. You believed in it when your were little, your parents did, and their parents did too. Why take it away from your children? Let's leave one thing that our children can believe in. The weather is gonna change, the seasons will, parents will forget, but Santa will always be there.
             In this day and age, children are forced to grow up far faster than they should have to. They are responsible for so much more than we used to be and its scary to think that the things we didn't know about until we were in our 20s, our children and grandchildren have learned by the time they are nine or ten. We all need something innocent to believe in. for many, this is the one thing that is still true. At the age of four, children are beginning to understand pain and fear and all the other cruel parts of the world, so why would you take away the happy part of the year.
