This is because of our schools or at least mine, which was majority white. They didn't do this on purpose but it was more or less to be politically correct. They should have taught us or at least more about Malcolm X and how he was a smart and strong willed man with different and great ideas. .

Malcolm X led an extraordinary life. When I look back on history and all the great leaders of different movements I believe that leaders don't really choose to be leaders they more or less emerge or are forged from their surrounding problems. Don't get me wrong, in order to be a leader you must have certain qualities and motivations. People who have these qualities are pushed in times of need to achieve what they or their kind don't have. Malcom X is a perfect example of this type of leader. Malcolm has all the qualities needed, great auditorial skills, an education, and the ability to control the media. Due to all this even though he was pushing for the movement. I believe the movement turned around and pushed him. What I mean by this is the movement chose him to be a leader, he didn't but once this happened he controlled the rest. Malcolm's father, Earl Little, was identified as the leader of the UNIA (The Universal Negro Improvement Association) chapter in Indiana. This goes to show you that qualities of being a leader are passed down between generations. Earl Little was murdered in 1931 by a local white supremacist group but there was no direct accusation on exactly who did it. After this event his mother broke down and him, his brothers, and sisters were taken and put into fauster homes. His mother was sent to a mental hospital. This is where Malcolm got his education from because he was placed with a white family who owned a private school for whites. Malcolm was treated like a house pet or a dog and was talked about like he wasn't there. Throughout his life he had categorized different parts with different names.
