I think that it is important for all students to have a vision while they are in school. This way they can plan for the future with motivation to achieve a goal and be more successful in doing so. My definition of vision is a plan to achieve something in the future that is related to what a person really wants from life. I may not know exactly what I want to be in the future or what I am going to do for the rest of my life, but I will explain some of my goals and aspirations in this essay. I will also explain how they relate to Cabrini College's Core Values.

The first core value in the Cabrini College Catalog is respect. I have always been a respectful person and was taught since I was a child to honor those who are older than I. In the catalog, it is stated that we should respect, "diversity, our environment, social justice, and civility in resolving conflict." I believe that I am doing well in respecting all these things throughout my years here at Cabrini. I believe that it is important to have the value of respect throughout one's life. It demonstrates a well-reserved individual that will value authority yet value those beneath them as well. In writing beneath them I am referring to people in the work place who are subordinates. I have never been treated unfairly by someone I show respect to in the work world.

The value of vision described in the handbook is "a spiritually-based outlook when seeking solutions, courage, and a pro-active stewardship of present and future resources." Cabrini is a Catholic college so I know that spirituality is a significant part of what the college is promoting for its" students. I think that it is important to have some type of spirituality while growing up. It can be a savior for some people who put a lot of trust in their faith. I know there have been a few times when I felt really down and out and when I put my faith in God he always helped me through it somehow.
