My

While in high school, still under the rules and restrictions of one's parents, one has a tendency to stretch the truth maybe just a tad bit. My parents were the type of parents that demanded to know where I would be every minute that I was not at home. At first, it may seem as if they are like typical parents concerned about their child, but my parents went beyond the line of typical. With my friends I had to answer a series of mandatory questions, but the main question was where was I going and going to be. My answer to that was usually my fake answer of Perkins. No matter what, we would just about always end up being at Perkins. Perkins was a restaurant located in the public, somewhere we could not drink, and a place where we were most likely to stay out of trouble. It was a place my parents were actually comfortable to allow me to go.
Friday night would come and my parents would ask, "Who are you going out with? Where are you going? Where are you going to be at 9:00? Where are you going to be at 9:20? What time are you going to be back? Why are you going out?" I would reply, "With friends, Jason, Brenda, Mary, Celi. To Perkins (my fake answer). At Perkins. Still at Perkins, Dad! Twelve. Because to have fun to go out with my friends- .
Saturday night's questions would be very similar if not the same, and my replies would be very similar too. Sometimes though I would vary my fake answer a little bit to attempt to lessen the suspicion of our repeated trips to Perkins. Instead of Perkins, I would fake answer bowling, then Perkins, or the basketball game, then pick up Jake, and then Perkins. Sometimes, it would even be to the movies, and Perkins; however, do keep in mind that when I returned home I had to provide a full description of the movie. So, the movie had to be a movie I knew a lot about already or one that a friend had already gone to so he or she could give me a summary.
