Zombie

His job as tenant for some apartments on campus at a local college requires him to help the tenants and he is "always obliging though speaking no more than is necessary and MAKING NO EYE CONTACT." (11) He is constantly speaking of not making eye contact and he is always sure to make no eye contact for fear of someone realizing that he is homosexual. I believe that the suppression by society and mostly his father has driven him to try and create this "zombie". Just like everyone else he wants a companion, someone to share things with, someone to cuddle with and fall asleep, however he is too scared to search for this companion in fear of the reaction by society and his father. This fear has led him to his killings, which were actually attempts to create his "zombie". He wants to create this "zombie" so that he can have someone "to be his forever to obey his every command someone who does not have terror someone who begs him to fuck them in the ass someone who always be there someone to cuddle with and someone to fall asleep with." (169-170) Q_P_'s homosexual desire is one that is not generally accepted by society so instead of going to a gay bar or something in order to find this person he is driven, out of fear of being discovered by someone who will tell his father or even his father, to create this person on his own which leads him to the murders of his victims.
Q_P_ also displays this disregard for the mores of society through the lack of respect he displays for murder. He lacks the typical view of murder held by society. Instead of having the sense that murder is something that is wrong, he does not even feel that he is murdering these be people but that they are attempts at bettering his own life. Q_P_ treats as murder as something that he must do in order to make things better for himself, therefore to him it is not murder and it is not wrong. He does not feel that he is murdering these people but that they are just failed attempts to better his own life.
