A zombie is a dead person that is brought back to life through means of voodoo or necromancy, destroying the mental power of this person through the process. Most people including my self considered zombies only to be a part nothing more than horror books and movies, but they do exist in the country of Haiti in the present day. Thousands of people in Haiti are considered to be zombies, some of which lead normal everyday lives with families, jobs and are respected citizens. It's even considered to be a crime to make a zombie in Haiti. The Haiti Penal Code states as follows :-.

Article 249.] It shall also be qualified as attempted murder the employment which may be made against any person of substances which, without causing actual death, produce a lethargic coma more or less prolonged. If, after the person had been buried, the act shall be considered murder no matter what result follows.
As stories and ancient beliefs go Voodoo and Zombies go hand-in-hand. Zombies are said to be created by using Voodoo. Voodoo like every religion has its Gods but it also has its dark side, which consists of Black Magic, Sorcery, Monsters, Murder and Raising the Dead. Voodoo ceremonies generally take place in Tonneles. which may be simple mud huts which have a hard floor on which the possessed man can dance.The dance the drums and the atmosphere are supposed to bring God and worshiper into one,the possession by God is the central experience in Voodoo. The dancer takes the form and the behavior of the God he is possessed by. The worshipers believe that a God can take over their body only when their soul is missing. They believe that the soul is divided into two: Gros-Bon-Ange and Ti-Bon-Ange. The Gros-Bon-Ange (big good angel) is what makes someone what he is while the Ti-Bon-Ange (small good angel) is a person's conscience.
When possession occurs the Gros-Bon-Ange is displaced and the man takes the form of God, at the end of the possession it is supposed to be restored instantly.
