College application

How many people do you know who will voluntarily put aside an entire day to work on a school project, no matter how small? If you know me, than the answer is at least one. I may not be the best person in the world, but when it comes to getting work done, I buckle down and always complete it on time. Whenever there is a project assigned, I pick the earliest date possible to set aside and work on it. It is a work ethic I developed from working for my father. "Son, always get things done as soon as possible," he would say, "then you have more free time afterwards". I took that saying to heart, and try to apply it to my life whenever possible. I believe this trait will be useful in college and my career, because hard work is the surest method to get what one wants. It may not be the easiest way, but it is the most reliable.
When I was in seventh grade, I had three projects due in one week. So the weekend before that was a long weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I told my father I could not go to work with him, and each day I worked on one project. To make sure I did a good job, I spent at least four to five hours on each one. Now, I did not have to spend all three days working on those projects, but I did not want to rush any of them, or be sloppy because I was trying to get them out of the way and finish them quickly. I sacrificed those days just to ensure my projects, not due until later in the week, would be completed thoroughly.
I believe that my ability to apply myself totally will be of great use to me in the future. College is all about studying, and with little else to do on my agenda, I will study intensely. I want to graduate college with a bachelor's degree in computer programming and robotic engineering, and with some hard studying, I believe I can reach that goal. I am looking into a career in computer programming and robotics, and in that field, hard work and application is what gets you to the top.
