            Lord Of The Flies-Character Evaluation.
The book Lord Of The Flies is a novel with many unique characters. These characters and their distinctive personalities add an aura of enjoyment and certain mystery to the book itself. The characters of this novel show the reader that they through their actions and decisions demonstrate human nature and morality in itself. One character that shows a particularly dominant personality is by the name of Piggy.
Golding shows in his book Lord Of The Flies that Piggy is intelligent. Piggy's intelligence is shown by Golding through Piggy appearance. Golding gives Piggy the appearance of being overweight and having to wear glasses. (Piggy is the only fat boy on the island out of the rest of the children.) This type of look presents Piggy as being a nerd. In today society a person who wears glasses is considered to have an air of cleverness surrounding him or her.
Another example of Piggy's intelligence is exposed when Ralph ponders to him self that,I can't think. Not like Piggy? Piggy could think. He could go step by step inside that fat head of his, only Piggy was no chief. But Piggy, for all his ludicrous body, had brains?(78) An additional instance of Piggy's intelligence is when Piggy says,The first thing we ought to have made was shelters down their by the beach.?Then when you get here you build a bonfire that isn't no use. Now you been and set the whole island on fire?(45). In this statement Piggy demonstrates that he has basic survival characteristics, can reason, and isn't childish like the other kids on the island. He understands what must be down to make certain that everyone survives.
Finally Piggy shows that he is clever when he makes a suggestion to Ralph that he and the rest of the children could build a fire down by the bathing pool to keep the smoke going for rescue. (Since the beast is on the mountain.) Piggy discloses that, We got no fire on the mountain.
