Power does not scare him he laughs in the face of power "hahahahahah" but he gets exiled to the island for his negligence of the rules and proper conduct in a society which does not allow such insubordination, "that really sucks". The savage is a character that does not want to live in a place where freedom is not allowed. He must not be like everybody else, he knows that he will never be free and that is why he kills himself. Is death the answer? Will we act this way if we become controlled by society? I hope not. Having just a few people in power could destroy us all, it's like a chain reaction. First they make all decisions for you, then they condition you to take there orders and before you know it you lose you"re god given freedom. We must be careful to whom the power is given too, because the wrong choice now could make everybody go crazy resulting in a mass suicide, well maybe not that fare.
Most people have their own ideas, more specifically their own opinions about today's lifestyle, war, communism and all that surrounds us. Although we don't like to admit it, the media has a great impact on our decision-making. Mass media is one of the most powerful sources that exist today. The television, the radio, the Internet and last but not least the papers are all different ways to make us change are opinions. How we live, how we dress and how we act around each other is pretty much all the cause of mass media. In the future will television take over our lives? Will the radio brainwash us and make us believe what they want? Are the papers going to write stupid things that will make everybody go nuts and kill each other? Who knows? In ten years from now the opinions that we once had about the world will change not only because of the media but because we have to adapt to a new and better society.
