Although I do agree that gay's on one hand should be able to live a relaxed and normal life due to there sexual preference, but on the other hand it could be a bad idea. A good example of all of this is about a man that my dad has been doing business with for several years. He was the assistant athletic director of a high school and he was the head of a highly regarded select baseball club. It recently came out that he was gay and he resigned his job at the high school and Most likely his baseball club will fold. The reality is that although most people will agree that he has every right to choose his sexual persuasion, they don't want him working with their children. Another example on the same category is the article. It describes how Kevin Jennings realized the most American thing he could have done was come out of the closet. As a kid he tried to commit suicide and hide the fact that he was homosexual to everybody. He finally realized that by doing that he was only hurting himself and accepting the fact that there was something wrong with him. If you live a life in my mind where you are always thinking something is wrong with you, you will not live a successful or full life. But later, he finally realized that coming out and signifying the fact that homosexuality is not bad. He learned he could lead his own path and destiny, the basic dream for every American. And as I was saying before, there are some jobs and some things where it shouldn't matter about your sexual preference, but to most people it does, although it is not the right thing, it is the facts of life at this time in history. Basically, I agree with Jennings, where you should not hide anything like that, because it will only hurt you in the long run, but you must realize there are some downfalls.
What should be and what is, is unfortunately, not always the same. Liberty and justice for all and the pursuit of happiness are constitutional rights.
