Effects of smoking

            This FYE meeting was about the effects of smoking and why you need to quit smoking if you do. He told us that young people have less lung usage than usual. He said on average a person who smokes on average, would have lived seven years longer than what they did if they wouldn't have smoked. He told us about how much money we would spend on cigarettes. He gave me a who new look at smoking because I never really looked at it like you are paying all of that money just to kill yourself and then when you start realizing that you start to pay people just to keep you alive. He brought three displays of lungs a normal lung a lung with emphysema and a lung with cancer. The one with emphysema looked black and looked like it was missing parts of it so it look as if the was ate away by the smoke. The lung with cancer looked like it also was missing a good portion of it and instead of being gray it was white and a lot of it was white just in different spots not all of it was white it did not look good though. All in all I thought it was a very good lecture very educational but at the same time he kept all of paying attention to what he had to say. I don't smoke but if I did after that lecture I would seriously think about quitting.
