Snowboarding and Skiing

When the brilliant red and yellow leaves begin to fall from the tree and the nights grow longer and colder, many people unconsciously dread the bitter flavor of winter's victuals. But for those who live off adrenaline, autumn brings about an exhilarating sense of anticipation for that familiar white season and endless days on the snow laden slopes. This is when the snow-dwellers, fully clad, finally awaken from their hibernation and start to strap on their skis or snowboards and make practice runs down the powdery slope of their home living room carpet. These two very similar creatures called snowboarders and skiers are aware of the differences they have created between themselves and somehow only they can recognize them. .
A war is brewing between these creatures that look down upon each other in spite of their minute differences. The tension is constantly growing with every skier that gets cut off by an over cocky snowboarder and every snowboarder whose chance at a great jump is missed because of a slow skier. This kind of mentality is a breeding ground for the rivalry seen between these two beasts of the hoary mountainsides. .
The typical downhill skier loves the trouble-free sensation that goes along with being amidst the outdoors and feeling the crisp air stroke his face while his feet glide along the forgiving snow. He has a love for the serene beauty of the mountain and the feeling of peace he rarely finds during his stressful life. This tranquility is far from the average snowboarder's common desires as he speeds down the slope weaving in and out of the unsuspecting skiers who seem to swarm the entire mountain. A snowboarder is on the constant hunt for the perfect jump that will impress that cute girl he passed as he sped by. This courageous feeling pushes a snowboarder to grab fear by the horns and ride it all the way down the mountain. .
A huge difference is also noticed in the styles of apparel observed between these two rivals.
