The daughter I think was getting mad at him, because he started talking about money, not even a hour after she died. To me it seemed like he was happy she died, because now he got all her money. He seems like a grumpy old man that doesn't care about any thing but money. Most fathers would for on not talk about money right after his wives death, and he would give the money to his daughter instead of being greedy. He really rubbed it in to his daughters face when he said that she couldn't have the money until he was dead. I really don't think that the daughter was thinking about money at the time of her mother's death.
If my mother ever died and my dad was that much of a coward not to look for himself, I would not be a happy camper. I would for one be furious at my father for not looking for himself. I would also say to my father are you nuts, for making your own son look. The father in the story also seemed like he refused to call the doctor a couple times until he really saw that his daughter was mad at him. If the father had acted fast he may had been able to save his wives life. If my father ever refused to save my mother from dieing, I would give him a piece of my mind.
I was still wondering how the mother committed suicide, or even if she did commit suicide. If she did commit suicide it must have been a pill or some kind of poison. I think it was a poison because the father didn't hear her suffering and most other ways that she could commit would cause suffering or loud noises. I think that her own husband also may have killed her. The husband didn't act like he really cared that she was dead so that mad me think maybe she was killed. It is definitely a possibility. I was thinking that he needed money, so he put some poison in her drink or something.
After reading it over twice I thought of another reason why the mother might have killed herself. She may have seen her daughter and grandson struggling to have any money.
