Animal Farm

They both abused alcohol and were both very corrupt in the sense that neither of them cared very much for the animals of the farm. But they were very different because Napoleon had more leadership skills and was very cunning he demonstrated this when he convinces all the animals that Snowball is the one behind all of attacks on the windmill "Snowball has done this thing! In sheer malignity, thinking to set back our plans and avenge himself for his ignominious expulsion, this traitor has crept here under cover of the night and destroyed our work of nearly a year." Napoleon eventually achieves his goals of ruling the Manor and controlling all of the animals there. But what he doesn't realize is that in his attempt to be almighty of the farm he becomes exactly what he set out to over come, a human, "The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.".
The other antagonist that emerges is Snowball, "A vivacious pig, very quick in speech and much more inventive then napoleon." In the beginning of the "new farm" Snowball and Napoleon both work together in leading the animals. They feel very empowered and share ideas on how to make the farm a better place, which brings them close together. Napoleon feels that Snowball is a threat to him because he is smarter, comes up with better ideas, and is a much better speaker than he is so, he eventually runs Snowball off the farm using his dogs, which pretty much enforce all of his laws and codes. " They dashed straight for Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time to escape their snapping jaws." This just gives Napoleon all the confidence in the world because he now has complete control over the farm and can do what ever he wants. Not only that but he now has a scapegoat which he can blame everything that goes wrong on the farm on. Like when the windmill came crashing down!.
