Golf Experience

My pulse was racing and I could hardly concentrate on anything my history teacher was saying in my last period class. My dad had organized a four-man golf team to play in a charity event, and I was a member. We were supposed to tee off at 1:00, which means I had to leave class right away to make it to the course on time. My adrenaline was combined with my nerves to make me ready for the tournament.
My anticipation was building up as I waited for my last period class to get out. I did not pay attention to anything the teacher was saying; all I could think about was the tournament. When she let us out I went straight to my car, not stopping to talk to anyone. I was so focused on how I was going to play and how the team was going to do that I just wanted to get there as soon as possible. So I started my long awaited journey to the course. My dad had told me get on 175 and that would take me right to the course. Well being nave, I took his word for it and ended up about 15 minutes behind schedule. He neglected to tell me that you are supposed to exit the road 175 east, and go west on 175. So things are already starting to look bad; I am fifteen minutes behind and I am just starting my quest. Still full of nervous energy, I decide to live life on the wild side and drive 90 mph, in hopes of regaining some lost time. Since my body was on a fast pace, I decided to listen to some up-beat music that would keep my energy alive. It was one of my burnt cd's I had made just for this type of occasion. So of course I rolled the windows down and turned the volume up as loud as it would go, without busting the speakers. I was on my way now and traveling at a good pace until I realize there is roadwork ahead. The dreaded government road-working employees that never seem to be doing anything but have managed to cause a twenty-car back up. After sitting and waiting for the crippled old guy sitting on the back of his truck to give us the signal to go, I was ready.
